I just got these boots and am surprised how light they are. I'll see how long they hold up, but for now they'll keep my feet dry this summer during road trips. I don't seek riding in the rain, but it catches up to you so with these I'll be prepared.They are as comfortable as any shoes I've worn, flexible and easy to walk in, they conform quickly to my feet and there are no pressure spots. While light weight I have no doubt these will provide more protection than tennies or street shoes, but I'll have to tweak the shifter up a bit for better control. Small accommodation to make for safety. I strongly suggest you take some trips in the neighborhood to get used to these if you haven't been wearing boots, the controls are different in them!
These would not be my choice for off road or adventure riding, but they suit my commuting/touring purpose. If you're hitting trails or double track in the rocks or woods, maybe you should get a heavier boot with stouter leather, these may not give as much protection as you need.

Follow up. Just spent a rainy day in these boots, and they did leak. I believe the stitching holding on the shift lever added layer on top is what leaked. It wasn't like a puddle but my socs did get damp on top and it did work its way down. I will try sealing the stitch holes with SnoSeal or the like and hope for the best. If not, I'll look for a better boot. Dropped a star for the leak. Still a very comfortable boot that can be worn day long and walked in comfortably.
