Ricks Motorsport Electric Stator 21-414H Review

I bought this stator to replace a burned out one in a 2002 Yamaha RoadStar motorcycle.
Here's a few observations:

Item looks to be very well made - better than the one I replaced. The original stator's coils were covered with an epoxy to insulate the wires. Barely. There were a few spots where the epoxy seems to have come off the coils, leaving the wires uncovered (but still insulated with the thin paintlike substance).

The new Rick's stators coils were evenly, and thickly covered with the epoxy. Sure looks like a better job than the original one!

Stator was a complete EXACT fit. I've read that some of the aftermarket stators (not Ricks...) had fitment issues, but this one was as good a fit as original.

Now, the results...

14.2 volts at idle. Stock stator never got much over 13.7 volts, even at high RPM's.
14.3 volts at 2000 rpm. This device works perfectly.

Would I buy another stator from Rick's? Absolutely!
As an aside, I also have a 1985 Yamaha VMax, that had charging issues from day one. I put one of Rick's voltage regulators (The new MOSFET style, with the seperate ground wire) in the bike a few years ago, and it immediately started wotking as well as the Roadstar does now. So, I would absolutely recommend both the stators, and the voltage regulators made by Rick's.
They work fine for me, saved a lot of money over OEM parts, too.

AND, the stator was made in USA!
