Before reading this review, I think my riding style should be noted. If yours is similar, then this review will hold more weight.I live in the Seattle area and ride year round. My commute is 21 miles each way. I ride in rain, shine, hot and cold down to around 30 degrees.
Any colder, and I worry about traction; specifically ice. I generally ride about 15,000 miles a year between commuting and summer trips.
I ride a sport touring bike and don't use heated grips, but I do have a heated vest.
OK, so now my review:
Pros:
* fully water proof, trust me on this one.
* The fleece liner is very warm and doesn't bunch up at the end of the fingers, it's sewn into the gloves very well.
* I have found these gloves to be warm down to around 30 degrees, much colder than that and my finger tips start getting pretty cold after about 10 minutes or so.
* No color bleeding onto my hands during our winter monsoons.
Cons:
* gloves are sized way too small. I wear a medium-large, bought a large, and should have bought an X-L. (hopefully they break in and stretch a little)
* The more rigid velcro wrist wrap strap can be a little bulky when trying to fit under the wrists of your jacket, but it's not so bad that I wouldn't buy these gloves.
Overall, aside from sizing, these are dang nice gloves. They should be for the price, afterall. I think you'd be happy as long as you buy the correct size...don't be shy about ordering a size or too larger than normal, that gamble will pay off for you.
