I've heard about Power Slot for years but when I was finally needing to replace the breaks on my Excursion for the first time, I was perplexed by what is really worthwhile and what is hype. I learned a lot about rotors and that many after market rotors are just factory replacements, modified with slots, drilled etc. and in some cases cyro. treated.

I finally decided to bit the bullet and try Power Slots all around and crossed my fingers that they really were worth it. They were!! Paired with Hawk pads, my beast has never stopped so smooth and fast. Whether towing my 7500# boat (including when the trailer brakes were disabled or empty, they are smooth as butter and actually increase in grab to the point I back off the brakes sometimes and let the brakes do most of the work.

It's probably more important for the pads you use, but following the instructions for bedding the brakes the first time is critical! I did, and I'm blown away at how much better the brakes are.

In my case, Ford Super Duty trucks are not known to have great factory brakes and most are plagued with shudder or pulsing under certain conditions and certainly fade, especially under heavy braking and high heat. Mine were not as bad as most and had 88k miles on them (never touched) but the difference with the Power Slots and Hawk LTS pads is light years!!
